【摘要】:Thiscodeofpracticegivesrecommendationsforgoodpracticeininitialpaintingandmaintenancepaintingofbuildingsinternallyandexternally,e.g.dwellings,offices,lightindustrialbuildings,schools,hospitals,hotelsandpublicbuildingsgenerally,inwhichdecorationisasignificantandoftenthemajorfactor.Thecodetakesintoaccounttheneedtoprotectmanybuildingmaterialsagainsttheweatherorotherformsofattacknormallyencountered.NOTE1Furtherguidanceontheprotectionofsteelstructures,isgiveninBSENISO12944andBS5493.Thecoatingsreferredtointhiscodeareprincipallyofconventionaltype,asdefinedinA.2,butlimitedreferenceismadetospecialistcoatings(A.3)andfactory-appliedcoatings(A.4).Inrespectofmaterialsgenerally,thecodedoesnotcoverindetailthewideandconstantlyincreasingrangeavailable.Somematerialshavebeenexcludedbecauseoftheirobsolescence,limitedorspecializedusageor,inthecaseofnewly-developedproducts,lackofexperienceoftheirperformanceinservice.NOTE2Productreferencesareindicatedinthetextbyfiguresinparentheses,e.g.(3/2),andrefertotheproductslistedanddescribedinTable3toTable11.Thecodedoesnotcover:a)decorativeprocessesandotherworkusuallycarriedoutbyspecialists;b)theparticularrequirementsoflistedorhistoricbuildings(seeBS7913);NOTEBuildingswhicharelistedorwhichliewithinaconservationareaareprotectedbylaw.Thisdoesnotmeanthatyoucanneveralterordemolishone,butcarryingoutrelevantworkwithouttheappropriateconsentisacriminaloffence.AttentionisdrawntotheNoticetotheDepartmentoftheEnvironmentofworkonbuildingsscheduledundertheAncientMonumentsscheduledundertheActsof1913-1953[1]andPPG15,Planningandthehistoricenvironment)[2].c)limewashanddistempercoatings;NOTELimewashanddistempercoatingsareeithermadeupfromdrypowdersoraresuppliedasready-mixedformulations.Theyaresignificantforreasonsoftraditionalcompatibility,especiallyinrelationtosomeolderbuildings.InformationandadviceregardingthesematerialscanbeobtainedfromtheSocietyfortheProtectionofAncientBuildingsandfromtheBritishLimeAssociation.d)preservativetreatmentsforstructuraltimber(seeBS5268-5);e)coatingsforfireprotection(seeBS8202);f)generalsafetyhazardsofaccessforpainting(seeBS8210:1986,AppendixC).Therecommendationsmadeinthecodeareintendedtofacilitateachievementofstandardsoffinishlikelytobeacceptableinmostcasesinthetypesofbuildings,providingthattheworkofothertradeshasbeencompletedtoasatisfactorystandard.Whereespeciallyhighstandardsoffinisharenecessary,moreelaborateprocessesandsystemsthanthosedescribedinthecodemightbenecessaryandshouldbespecifiedaccordingly.
