【摘要】:Itisnotpossibletoestablishaprecisecorrelationbetweenacceleratedandnaturalweatheringbecause(1)therearegeographicalclimaticvariations,localweathervariations,andvariationsinlocalpollutants,and(2)therelationbetweenacceleratedandnaturalweatheringismaterialdependentwithdifferencesinaccelerationfactorsbetweenmaterialsaswellasfordifferentformulationsofthesamematerial.Thisweatheringapparatusandprocedureareusedforcomparingtheweatheringcharacteristicsofbituminousmaterialsagainstacontrolmaterialforwhichtheoutdoorweatheringcharacteristicsareknown.GuideG141providesguidanceregardingthisissue.Note18212;Thispracticecanbeusedforotherthanbituminousmaterials,butthesignificanceandusehavenotbeenevaluated.1.1Thispracticecoverstestconditionsandproceduresforxenon-arcexposuresaccordingtoPracticesG151andG155forbituminousroofingandwaterproofingmaterialsthathaveaminimumsofteningpointofapproximately95x00B0;C[200x00B0;F]asdeterminedbyTestMethodD36.(AlsoseeTerminologyG113.)1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
