【摘要】:BSEN1917specifiesrequirementsanddescribestestmethodsforprecastconcretemanholesofcircular,rectangular(withorwithoutchamferedorroundedcorners)orellipticalcross?section,unreinforced,steelfibreandreinforced,withnominalsizesornominallengthsnotexceedingDN1250orLN1250,respectively.TheintendeduseofBSEN1917istopermitaccessto,andtoallowaerationof,drainorsewersystemsfortheconveyanceofsewage,rainwaterandsurfacewaterundergravityoroccasionallyatlowheadofpressure,mainlyinstalledinareassubjectedtovehicularand/orpedestriantraffic.ThispartofBS5911specifiescomplementaryrequirementstothoseinBSEN1917forunreinforcedandreinforcedconcretemanholesofcircularandrectangularcross?section(withorwithoutchamferedorroundedcorners),asprovidedforinBSEN1917,i.e.unitswithnominalsizesornominallengthsnotexceedingDN1250orLN1250,respectively.FullrequirementsforunreinforcedandreinforcedconcretemanholeswithnominalsizesgreaterthanDN1250,butnotexceedingDN3000,arealsospecified.Themanholesareintendedtobeinstalledincarriagewaysofroads(includingpedestrianstreets),hardshouldersandparkingareasforalltypesofroadvehicles,thoughprovisionisalsomadeforunitssubjecttolightertrafficloading.Requirementsforsoakaways,landingslabsandcorbelslabsarealsospecified.BSEN752,BSEN1295?1andBSEN1610dealwiththeplanning,design,installationandtestingofdrainsandsewers.
