【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesproceduresformakingjointswithpolyethylene(PE)pipeandfittingsbymeansofheatfusionjoiningin,butnotlimitedto,afieldenvironment.Othersuitableheatfusionjoiningproceduresareavailablefromvarioussourcesincludingpipeandfittingmanufacturers.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallpossibleheatfusionjoiningprocedures,ortoprecludetheuseofqualifiedproceduresdevelopedbyotherpartiesthathavebeenprovedtoproducereliableheatfusionjoints.Theparametersandproceduresareapplicableonlytojoiningpolyethylenepipeandfittingsofrelatedpolymerchemistry.TheyareintendedforPEfuelgaspipeperSpecificationD2513andPEpotablewater,sewerandindustrialpipemanufacturedperSpecificationF714,SpecificationD3035,andAWWAC901andC906.Consultwiththepipemanufacturerstomakesuretheyapprovethisprocedureforthepipetobejoined(seeAppendixX1).Note1InformationaboutpolyethylenepipeandfittingsthathaverelatedpolymerchemistryispresentedinPlasticsPipeInstitute(PPI)TR-33andTR-41.PartsthatarewithinthedimensionaltolerancesgiveninpresentASTMspecificationsarerequiredtoproducesoundjointsbetweenpolyethylenepipeandfittingswhenusingthejoiningtechniquesdescribedinthispractice.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thetextofthispracticereferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthepractice.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
