【摘要】:Thisstandardappliestosurgeprotectorsforapplicationonmulti-conductorandcoaxial,balancedorunbalanced,data,communications,andsignalingcircuitswithvoltageslessthanorequalto1000Vrms,or1200Vdc.Thesesurgeprotectorsareintendedtolimitvoltagesurges,currentsurges,orboth.Thisstandardisnotintendedtocoverindividualdevicecomponents.Installationofallsurgeprotectors(SPDs)mustbeinconformancewiththerequirementsofapplicablelocalandnationalelectricalcodes.Specificallyexcludedfromthisstandardareprotectorsforlow-voltagepowercircuitapplications.Thesurgeprotectorscoveredbythisstandardaretobetestedbymeansoftheconnectionsorterminationsthatareusedwhenthesurgeprotectorisinstalledinthefield.Forsurgeprotectorsthatareintendedtobeusedwithabaseorconnector,thatbaseorconnectorshallbepartofthetests.Thetablesoftypicalperformancevaluesofthisstandardprovideameansofcomparisonamongvarioussurgeprotectors.Theyalsoprovideacommonengineeringlanguagebeneficialtotheuserandmanufacturerofsurgeprotectorsusedinlow-voltagedata,communications,andsignalingcircuits.
